Vladimir Dorokhin

The Belarusian composer Vladimir Dorokhin was born in 1948 in the town of Slonim in the Grodno Region of Belarus. He graduated from Professor Uspensky's composition class at the St.Petersburg Conservatoire in 1973. He lives and works in Minsk. He is a Vice-Chairman of the Belarusian Composer's Union, the Head of the Composition Department of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, Merited Artist of the Republic of Belarus.

The key area of Dorokhin's work is symphonic music. The music by Vladimir Dorokhin has its own inimitable style. Its exuberant feelings and highly expressive tone in combination with the strict logic governing the organization of the musical material and its various stuff. Vladimir Dorokhin's activity is inseparable from Belarus contemporary music scene.
